Where will camp be held?

This is the 2nd year we’ll be having camp at the Illinois Street Residence Hall (ISR) on the University of Illinois
campus in Urbana.

Urbana is in east central Illinois, near the intersections of Interstates 74, 57, and 72.  It’s about 3 hours south of
Chicago, 3 hours west of Indianapolis, and 3 hours northeast of St. Louis.

You can get here by train, plane, car, or bus. There’s also shuttle service available from Chicago. If you need to
be picked up just let us know your travel plans and we’ll have someone meet you at your destination. Here are
some ways to get here without a car.

One of the best things about this location is the actual
building we get to use.  The ISR is nice and clean,
and it has big windows all over the place, so we
never feel closed in.

Another great feature is the enclosed courtyard.  It's the
popular spot for casual jam sessions!  The folks in the
photo below are waltzing to live music provided by their
    teachers and fellow campers.  (sigh!)

In addition to having great dorms, the campus has
lots of cool stuff to do.  When we need to get out for
a breath of fresh air there are plenty of options
    within walking distance.

Last summer we trekked across campus
twice:  once to hear  a live concert (and eat
    pizza!) on the quad . . .

. . . and another time to take a tour of the
University of Illinois Center for American Music
and Sousa Archives.  Have you ever seen a real
    wooden record player speaker?
